So its been a busy few weeks with not enough time to post, not cool hmu i know but we'll have to pick up the pace with these four for monday. With a couple of Tunes from Mike Okay, Major Lazer and an amazing remix of Pjanoo by Dada life i think you'll agree that we've upped our game. So lets get going.
Hey guys been a busy week and I've found these tunes for your listening pleasure! We kick off with one hell of a heavy tune by Felix Cartal. We've professed our love for this guy's stuff on Hook Me Up before and this ones no different - and with John Roman on the remix its simply incredible!
Next its another remix of the ever popular La Roux. This time its Tepr and in typical Tepr style he's got some some really cool melodies and chords going on in this one.
Finally its another tune by Calvertron. We posted one of his a few days ago and as we said he has been putting out some real bangers recently and this one doesn't dissapoint. It's Oscillator!!!
The Previously HMU blogged San Francisco wundertrio Pance Party is often asked, “What is Pance Party?” Well, Pance Party is running through a rolling meadow, surrounded by a million puppies. Pance Party is a dinosaur screaming at a taco. Pance Party is fun at all costs, hyper-absurd, preposterous dance music expressed through innovative sounds, delightfully catchy leads, and face-melting bass – enough raw sonic energy to turn even the most negative Nancy into a raving lunatic on the dance floor.
Pance Party emerged through a chance break in the string of profanities, non sequiturs, and laughing at puppies that normally makes up the conversations of members Ben Swardlick, Eric Luttrell, and Andy Coenen – A gap in the mindless banter led to the question “What if we started our very own Producer Three-O?”. And so it began.
That being said the HMU Pance Party appreciation society figured we'd show some love with these new PP remixes.
First up Deejay Raph's FMIF (Pance Party Remix) offers a VERY wonky, bouncy party track with some rather rude lyrics suggesting a wee bit of "romance," high five. This tune has the bass by the balls and even samples the previously Blogged 'A Million Puppies' by the Pance Party Boys themselves.
Next up Pance Party open up a can of worms on Divasonic's new track. will be coming your way as soon as we figure out how to set up the right streaming method,
Summer is most definitely upon us and the music needs to reflect the summery feeling boiling up inside our souls! So with that in mind we gotta get the beats in place, we''ve got some amazing tunes for you from the likes of Chaka Khan, Passion Pit and Ellie Goulding.
First up, Chaka Khan's 'I Feel For You' with a twist. Calvertron's reputation for churning out bangers is getting more and more widely spread, with tour dates reaching Ibiza and the Czech Repblic. His remix totally wonks up the classic Chaka Khan tune and throws you into a summer feel. be sure to check out his myspace for more info on how to find a gig near you!
So we've all heard the Passion Pit track Sleepyhead and we've recently blogged the Neo Tokyo remix a few weeks ago. Thanks to the boys of Noise Porn they've intoduced us to the Jazzsteppa Remix. A brilliant take on th e origional with a fragmented melody remaniscent of a summer breeze. Belter.
Finaly we've got a birllian wonky fiddgety summer tune from Ellie Goulding with Jakwob on the remix. The England based Jakwob has recently had plays on Radio 1's Annie Mac and Jaymo & Andy George shows. The BBC sure think his tunes are top notch and we're with them. Get a listen into this and then hit the myspace and show some love! Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (Jakwob Remix)
WOW! the Lovely DeDeDee have just sent a cheeky little EP sampler for us to enjoy. Enjoy i shall, many times over. 'DeDeDee - What The Hell?! EP' (System Recordings) is gonna be dropping into the Beatport world on the 4th June and 16th June on iTunes and everywhere else. With sounds similar to that of Daft Punk and Justice this EP is sure to impress, definitely looking forward to getting a copy here at HMU.
The EP consists of the three tracks 'What The Hell', 'Tell Me' and 'Swagga Jacka'. With my personal fav 'Tell Me' rocking the middle of the sampler due to the cheeky Phantom II similarities.
DeDeDee have a couple of gigs lined up in the UK to go along with the EP launch so if you're in the area get yourself down. For more information hit up the myspace, and look out for the EP on Beatport June 4th.
We often talk about bangers on Hook Me Up, but when I heard these at the weekend I was blown away. Nadisko have kindly sent us two of their tracks for the readers of HMU! Nadisko are a Sydney based duo who, in their own words, like to "keep it hard". Indeed they do! Their music falls in somewhere along with Proxy and Boys Noize with influences from the likes of Felix Cartal.
Let us know what you think of these guys because we certainly have high hopes for them! Check out their myspace page atwww.myspace.com/nadisko for more tracks and info on the duo!
If you are looking for your electronic fix of bleepy tech formed synth notes with deep throbbingbasslines then California based Pance Party is exactly where it can be found. The New EP 'A Million Puppies' is full to the brim with funky electronic brilliance, this EP really delivers. The three producers that create this colorful sound have equally colorful personalities, with Andy, Eric and Ben, creating multi-touch midi controllers, climbing Kilimanjaro and cycling across the United States respectively.
So we've chosen to highlight a few of the hottest tracks from the EP, have a listen and then head straight over to their myspace and show some love!
"Big big big.... BIG MOUTH!" shouts the sample as the distortion from the bass flutters over your face. A very D.I.M. / Daft Punk sounding track with very funky aspects from the get go and vocoders singing the melody.
The start of this song along with the title teases a sense of relaxation and joy in the word before tearing it all down with possibly the heaviest bass on the EP. However, the little vocal samples as well as the bouncy rhythm sectio keeps it sounding funky as a chicken with a boom box.
Excellent boysnoizeesque distorted guitar sounding techno, this tune lays it all on the table inviting you to jump up and rave. Big synthy build-ups into rocking loops with even a bit of my favorite sound ever... the cowbell. BOOM!
